A Family Reunited: A Miracle We Didn’t Expect to Witness

Some stories stay with you forever. This is one of them.
A single mother — a survivor — had spent the last three years fighting for something most of us take for granted: to have all six of her children under one roof.
After leaving an abusive partner, she rebuilt her entire life from scratch. She worked day and night, caring for her three children already living with her while battling the legal system to bring home the other three — her daughters — who had been placed in temporary foster care.
We don’t know every detail of why the girls were placed there, but like so many moms in domestic-violence situations, she had to prove she could financially support all six children and provide each child with a safe home — including having individual beds and enough furniture to meet reunification standards.
These are the kinds of barriers many families face. A loving mother can go years without seeing her children simply because:
She cannot afford multiple beds at once
She is recovering from financial abuse
She is rebuilding credit or housing after leaving violence
She is supporting the children already in her home
She is navigating complicated and slow-moving court systems
Can you imagine…not seeing your three-year-old daughter until she was five or six because you didn’t yet have the furniture required for reunification?
That was her reality.
💛 The Call for Help
Another nonprofit reached out to us urgently.
This mother had finally been approved for her first overnight visit with her daughters — but only if the home had the proper furniture.
She had everything ready except a crib/pack and play, a twin bed frame, a twin mattress, and a table with chairs.
Our team moved quickly. Within days, we delivered everything she needed for the home inspection and the long-awaited visit.
We were simply hoping to help her experience one night with her girls.
But God had other plans.
🌟 A Miracle at the Door
Right before we left her home, she received a phone call.
Not only were the girls coming for their overnight stay…they were being permanently placed back with their mother.
As the caseworker gave her the news, she burst into tears, jumped up and down, and said:
“Thank you Jesus for hearing my prayer!”
Years of waiting. Years of praying. Years of working and fighting and refusing to give up.
And in a single moment — her family was whole again.
We witnessed something so beautiful, so sacred, we will never forget it.
A miracle, right in her living room.
